IP JOURNEY CHIEMSEE
Nature, culture, and meeting each other. This was the motto of the Intergenerational Program Journey which lead a group of over 30 seniors and youngsters to the picturesque lake Chiemsee in Bavaria, Germany.

The journey was two days long, and included an overnight stay and an interesting cultural program. It took place on the weekend of June 26 2010, and was organized by UG members jointly with the NürnbergStift administration and other partners.
Senior citizens (60-85) from Nuremberg drove to Gstadt near the Chiemsee to meet 8th graders from the Franziska-Hager school from the city of Prien. With some help from their tutor, the students organized the tour. They helped the seniors to embark a boat and escorted them during an exploration of the Fraueninsel, an island with some of the most dazzling architecture which Bavaria has to offer.
The journey created loads of quality time and valuable space for personal encounters between the age groups. All had great fun during the event, and many participants asked us to organize another journey soon.
