IP Reading - Kids read to Seniors
The idea
The IP Reading – Kids read to Seniors- brings together young and old for the benefit of both generations.
Together with professional assistance from UG Supervisors, elementary school students visit nursing homes to read selected stories in a comfortable atmosphere.
Goal and Advantages
Thanks to these get-togethers a dialogue and human proximity is created. These get-togethers allow both generations to spend some precious hours together and to exchange experiences, which promotes mutual acceptance and understanding.
The Goals of this Programm are:
> Establishment of a regular social contact between young and older people
> Promotion of reading skills and confidence of primary school children
> Integration of seniors in the social life.
> Promotion of acceptance between generations
